Rattan furniture is intended for indoor use or should be used outdoors under a roof, as natural rattan does not like moisture and standing in the rain. Rain can cause bruising and discolouration of the material.

Rattan furniture should not be stored outdoors in winter, as natural rattan is sensitive to low temperatures - under their influence it can cause discolouration, distortion and cracks

Prolonged exposure to intense UV radiation can cause fading and weakening of rattan. Place furniture in places protected from direct sunlight or use sunshades.
